This of course comes as no surprise to anybody that was down the shore last summer, but the numbers were released, and it proves that the Tourism industry did extremely well in 2006.

Some of the lesser known highlights of New Jersey tourism:

- Hammonton in Atlantic County is known as the blueberry capital of the world.

- Adventure Aquarium in Camden is the only aquarium in the country with hippos.

- New Jersey has 21 wineries producing over 40 different varieties.

- Cowtown Rodeo in Pilesgrove is the longest-running regular Saturday night rodeo in the nation.

- Atlantic City has America's first boardwalk, built in 1870.

- There are over 4,000 scuba diving wreck sites off the New Jersey coast.
