As of 8 AM this morning the New Jersey Casinos were forced to shut down gambling after a bid to keep them open. The casinos cannot open without State Inspectors who are not considered "essential workers" and thus were furloughed by the budget impasse and shutdown.
The casinos claim that they may lose up to $16 million dollars a day as July and August are their busiest times. The shutdown could also cost the State up to about $2 million in tax revenue. |
